Dr. Ferrara, a founder of Omni Environmental Corporation, has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of environmental engineering and science as a consultant, educator and scholar. He has authored numerous consulting reports, scientific publications and conference presentations, and served as an associate editor for the ASCE Journal of Environmental Engineering and AWRA Water Resources Bulletin. He is regularly requested to speak at professional association conferences.
Dr. Ferrara has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses, has lectured in professional short courses and has served on a variety of professional committees. During his academic career, Dr. Ferrara was actively engaged in research in the areas of water quality modeling of pollutant fate and transport, storm water quality control, and toxic and hazardous chemicals fate in ground and surface waters. His research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Mellon Foundation, Dodge Foundation, and the Office of Water Policy of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Dr. Ferrara has provided consulting services to a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. He is well known for his work in water quality modeling and wasteload allocation studies most notably for NPDES permits, his analysis and testimony in litigation involving drinking water contamination and the environmental fate of pollutants, and his preparation of environmental impact studies particularly related to nonpoint source pollution.
